I point you, as I would anyone else, to http://www.sirlin.net/ptw-book/intermediates-guide.html

The "Spirit of fair play" is a misnomer. It's simply a narrowing of a playstyle into something that avoids having to think too much.
It's not limited to Setons players (so no need to get so defensive about Setons), or even supcom, or anything.
Where there's competition, there's players that will say "Yeah, you won, but you did x, y, z, which is cheap so it doesn't count".
While you do that, you don't improve.

As I said, though, it's up to the individual groupings to decide on rules.
If you want to play 3599 with x2 res nr20 no nukes no game enders, then fine.
If you want to play 3609 with everything available then that's fine too. Just tell me when the game starts what it is so that I know on what I am commentating.

I think you will end up playing your tournament as world vs world in the end.

We may be crap noob players who play mostly one map, but at least we didn't lose the spirit of fair play and we don't use cheats in our games.
Gowerly wrote:it's a 20x20 map. The idea of offmapping bombers for that is ridiculous, as
- It would only work against the back player, the side and front players are too far from the edge
- It would add minutes to the flight times for it
- There are cliffs behind the back player, which would stop some of the bombs

Offmapping is:
- in the game
- not removed by any of our patches
- not even discussed in any of the balance topics

To stop bombers you just need some air patrolling and as I can see most of these games being 3599, T3 air is absurdly cheap.
To stop drops you just need radar and bombers of some description.
I severely doubt that offmapping will decide ANY of these games.

It's there, it's fine, it's a game mechanic, I'm not banning it. In fact, I encourage it.
Comparing it to turning cheating on is childish. You can't turn offmapping off.

Having a "code of honour" when playing is, in my mind, stupid. Different people will decide different things are lame and you'll never get anywhere. If it's in, and it's not fixed, or declared a bug, use it. Whining about it just shows how narrow a game you play.

As in most of the games that will be played today: I leave it up to individual games to decide the strategies.

u have to trust other players they will not off map!!! which is uinliklysheilds and sams will stop them from even trying to bomb you lol

Well 2 rapes.

But in the end, TY to the players who played for world side. We had too many setons players and we struggled too much to get world teams. Too bad. (I'll let you find some excuses).

World team was disorganised. Didn't get a good team together. That and nobody practiced! I guess people didn't care enough. Seems to be the theme.

People don't seem to care about tournies for some reason. There was a poor turnout for the 2v2 tourny as well.
