TA4 raised a point that kinda concerns me.

Apparently on FAF offmap (And I guess possibly other exploit of the game) is allowed to assure the win.

I hope the games will be played in a fair play mode, not do any crap to win.

Offmapping is fine. The time delay of making your aircraft fly to the edge and out of the edge of a 20km map more than negates the benefit of not being seen.
Everyone can offmap, it's not limited to individual players/factions. No scrubbiness please.

Wow :o
Well let's turn cheating on then.

I never imagined there was such a gap (and the word is actually too weak) between our considerations of what's fair play/cheating.

An awhassa going offmap cause it just needs to turn is fine, but intentional offmapping to avoid any possibility of counter is complete BS.

I just hope my english is too bad and I totally misunderstood your answer.

I kind of agree with V here: Offmapping is BS on maps like setons where the bases are near enough to the edge that it guarantees success by bombers.

Not only bombers, drops as well. There would be no game if we had to put defenses all along the sides to prevent this...
And has any rule / game version been decided yet ?

it's a 20x20 map. The idea of offmapping bombers for that is ridiculous, as
- It would only work against the back player, the side and front players are too far from the edge
- It would add minutes to the flight times for it
- There are cliffs behind the back player, which would stop some of the bombs

Offmapping is:
- in the game
- not removed by any of our patches
- not even discussed in any of the balance topics

To stop bombers you just need some air patrolling and as I can see most of these games being 3599, T3 air is absurdly cheap.
To stop drops you just need radar and bombers of some description.
I severely doubt that offmapping will decide ANY of these games.

It's there, it's fine, it's a game mechanic, I'm not banning it. In fact, I encourage it.
Comparing it to turning cheating on is childish. You can't turn offmapping off.

Having a "code of honour" when playing is, in my mind, stupid. Different people will decide different things are lame and you'll never get anywhere. If it's in, and it's not fixed, or declared a bug, use it. Whining about it just shows how narrow a game you play.

As in most of the games that will be played today: I leave it up to individual games to decide the strategies.

I think you are smart enough to realize how completely retarded your arguments are.

I think you will end up playing your tournament as world vs world in the end.

We may be crap noob players who play mostly one map, but at least we didn't lose the spirit of fair play and we don't use cheats in our games.
