Getting FAF to work in wine

Hi,

Would be really nice it if was possible to get FAF working in wine.

I got to the login screen by installing .net 4.0.
Now I get the error "Unique Id found for another user. Multiple accounts are not allowed"
when I try to login.

Any way to fix this?

Would also be nice to know why this "multiple accounts are not allowed" policy exists.

to prevent smurfing, the last PC from which somebody looged in with a certain account is locked to that account, no other account can be log in on that PC until the other account is used on another PC

But is smurfing really such a big problem?
Is it even problematic in the first place?

I'm sorry, but it just seems to me that it creates more harm than good.

it is no more a big problem on FAF but it was a REALLY big problem in GPGnet
like every 2nd accout in the top 50 was a smurf

I see. I still think it's a bad idea, but whatever.
If I could get it working it would be enough for me.

When there was no such restrictions, the average amount of account per player was 10.
I forgot my password ? "reset".
I've lost 10 points ? "reset".

Supporting linux is so low on my priority list (because of all the hassle I will have dealing with it), that I think I will rewrite FA engine before.

Hmm, ok, yeah that sounds bad.

I'm not asking you to support linux, I'm asking you to support wine. That should not be especially hard (I think - depends a bit on what APIs you used and such).

FAF is depending on so many win32 calls... I wish you good luck

win32 calls is fine. There's just something with the multiple accounts detector that doesn't work. It detects multiple accounts even though I only have one.

Because it fails running the win32 code.
