"Connecting" when trying to skirmish OFFLINE

What a bizarre problem. After a LOT of topic searching I still haven't found a solution. Here are the facts:

- ProgramData/Bin/Exe is how I'm starting in offline mode
- When I click on skirmish it sends me straight to a "connecting screen"
- The same problem occurs when I try to host through LAN, as soon as I name the game and press create.
- I don't have Sorian AI manually installed (only through the lobby)
- My FA is not a steam version (though I do own the steam version, which is not installed)

I have resorted to exe play because I've had a recurring problem when trying to play on the lobby. 7/8 times that I try to host a game through the lobby, I can only see my mouse cursor and a black screen, where usually one should see "connecting." Ironic then, that when trying to play offline or on LAN with my friend that I should see it there.

I'm repeatedly being frustrated by bizarre issues and its really off-putting for people who don't know much about computers.
I hope I have provided enough information for some help.

You probably have a bad mod.

Do it throught the lobby, there is no official offline mode support.

Apologies, I left out some facts:

- I was able to start a skirmish offline about 4 times, that's the strange thing. I got it to work a few times, then suddenly, it felt like it needed to connect to something.
- The only mod I have installed is GAZ_UI folder
- I emptied all my maps from the map folder and the problem persisted

You still have tons custom maps and mods and one is misbehaving. Avoid mappack at all cost. A lot are broken in them.

Try removing them all.

Thanks for your attention zep, I know I am being a massive pain in the ass and I appreciate so greatly your assistance whenever you give it, which is why I've managed to get 8 of my friends on FAF over the past few months.

However I can 100% say that at the time of starting this topic, I had (and still have) only GAZ_UI mod and NO custom maps installed. I don't know why the log is saying this. What should I do to update the logs?

I had hoped it would not come to that but yes, probably I will have to. I was just hoping that someone could provide me with a possible fix before I had to go through all of that.

If so should I fresh install with the normal version or would it be best if I download the steam version I bought a while back? Just to clarify I bought the steam version before I got the normal FA, but at the time FAForever did not work with steam. Since then I just couldn't be bothered to go through the whole process of reinstalling.

If the logs say you have maps, then you have maps.
(in c:\users\mlbc\documents\my games\gas powered games\supreme commander forged alliance\maps\)

and repost a new one.

zep I don't know how to provide a "new" log. I read the instructions and followed them and the logs above are the only ones I knew how to get.
