Problem patching at all

Hey guys,
I used to be happy SupCom player from beta times, and recently decided to go back to this. I bought FA last night on steam and wanted to try my luck in an online game. I understand I must patch the game before I play, but don't know how. When I download the patch installer, it's asking for location of ForgedAlliance.exe, but my installation doesn't include such file (only SupremeCommander.exe). How can I patch the game? Please help....

in the bin folder of the installation path of supreme commander forged alliance is the forgedalliance.exe. when you only see a supcremecommander.exe you have installed supreme commander and NOT supreme commander forged alliance!

I am playing FA (single player), bought it on Steam, however there's no "forgedalliance.exe" on my computer...

This is normal, and you have nothing to patch.

Host a game on FAF, it will guide you (read carefully).

Nope, when I try to join a game through FAF, pop up message tells me to update....

This message:
Incompatible Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance version

Your installation is incompatible with Forged Alliance Forever. Probably your game has an older version number. Versions v1.5.3599 or v1.5.3603 or Steam are required to playon FAF.

A fresh install of Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance is recommended before patching & upgrading. You can also register your CD-Key on Steam to download an up to date version without needing a disk.

And you point your steam installation (Options-Settings-game path) ?

Did you launch the game once from steam ?

Thank you Ze_PilOt, I forgot that I entered SupCom .exe there before I bought FA and did not change it later. Works now. See you on the battlefield...
