Can't run FAF with UAC on.

Postby shoot2kill » 12 Jan 2013, 02:02

I have windows 7 on my PC.

I recently noticed that my UAC was set to off.

When I tried turning it back on I get the following when I try to run FAF :-

The logfile'C:\Program Files (x86)\Forged Alliance Forever\FAForever.exe.log'
could not be opened:
[Errno 13] Permission denied: 'C\\Program Files (x86)\\Forged Alliance Forever\\FAForever.exe.log'

My user account is set to administrator on my PC but FAF will only run with UAC turned off.

Is there a way to run FAF while windows UAC is on ?

I would really like to turn UAC back on as it seems a sensible way of protecting my PC.

You have run FAF with admin mode once. That's bad.

No idea to help you.

Same answer.
The only solution is to clean every FAF files so the admin lock is removed.

I got past this error by running the program in compatibility mode for Windows XP (Service Pack 3).

I had tried Administrator mode to see if that would cure my "Connection to host timed out" error. I thought that error is related to this issue: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=4616&p=51792&hilit=hostname#p51792 but I'm not sure.
