Offline Play

Postby rockoe10 » 10 Jan 2013, 09:54

Occasionally I play forged alliance offline through LAN with friends or family and was wondering:

Do the changes and balancing patches from FAF carry over to the original forged alliance?

And if not, would it be possible for me to get those patches and unit balances for my offline play?

Thanks bunches

Use an appropriate shortcut like C:\ProgramData\FAForever\bin\ForgedAlliance.exe and you will use FAF version without FAF lobby.

Thanks tons, ill try this when I get home from work tonight.

EDIT:

I went home to try out your suggestion and I don't see a bin folder in the FAF folder. Nor do I see the FordgedAlliance.exe file.

If I run the my ForgedAlliance.exe that was installed from the CD's, it says patch number 3603. And if I go into the FAF folder and run the .exe I get the Lobby.

So I guess what I'm asking is, is there a way I can get a mod or patch that would change the Forged Alliance I have installed on my computer and those of my friends?

Host a game in the lobby to create the bin folder.

Nothing...

Would the fact the I do not have FAF installed in the default location have any affect? I don't have any problems playing FAF Lobby, but I am unable to find a "bin" folder.

In know my FAF is in there : "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\FAForever"

and there is a bin folder with an exe inside.

There are two FAF folders one in program files for the lobby in think and the one that interest you under "documents and settings.
