Templates will not Save

So, I'm having a very minor issue that turns into a major issue. Anyone who actually knows how to play this game knows that templates are essential. For some reason though, mine refuse to save and I've tried with 2 different factions, I've closed FA and reopened it before but still nothing works. So my initial conclusion is either that I need the Steam version downloaded, or, I need to have my disk copy in my disk drive. Any help with this issue would be much appreciated, otherwise I'm going to stick to fighting AIs until I can get the issue resolved. Also if there is already a topic on this, please direct me to it.

And before anyone says it, yes I clicked on the save template button. I did both left and right clicking, I even quadruple clicked the damn thing. And I also know there were no units selected when trying to save the template because I always have my engies, ACU, SACUs, move out of the area I will be click dragging. So, if anyone has any better advice than what i have come up with, it would be much appreciated.

First check if you're using any mods, they can interfere with templates.

I had a problem with GAZ_UI a while back.

I only use the mods that are already available in game, such as the double resource income mod in the mods tab. However a friend of mine also uses it but does not have the same problem. I also tried a different game type last night and still the same problem. I will however disable the mod and try again as well as trying again after I had my pc shut down.

try to save them in an offline game (not via FAF) and check if they're saved

i think FAF uses your user profile settings but isn't saving stuff on them

I'll try that when I get the disk copy back from my other house. Otherwise I'd save the one that is in the house I'm currently staying at, but I have no clue where it is.

you can play on FAF, thus i assume you patched your game up to 3599

3599 does not require a dvd to play the game anymore, you can launch it without

I know I don't need the disk, but I'm going to see if it uses the templates I save using the disk. I'm just testing anything and everything before ruling something out.

As far as I know, I have corrected the problem. A while back I had to create a new desktop user because my old user profile became corrupted. This in turn led to where I did not have an actual profile saved into the game directory itself so my templates had nowhere to save and be pulled from. I learned this after putting the disk in and being prompted to create a new profile.

Yes, this fixes the issue..

Run the orginal FA exe from the original folder, make certain you have a profile.

(NOT SURE IF IT NEEDS TO BE THE SAME NAME AS YOURS IN FAF)

but i did the exact same name on mine and it worked.

All you need is a profile. Name doesn't matter.
