FA or Internet?

When i zoom in all the way in 4v4s my connection starts spiking, but when im zoomed out all the way its perfectly fine. I tried reinstalling FA, didnt work. I get 4.55 mbps download speed and 0.62 mbps upload speed on speedtest.net at 44 ping. My friend who has worse internet than me can play 4v4s fine, i dont understand the problem, please help.

I have the same exact problem as you, I can't play 4v4s since my upload speed has gone to well, ya know

the only way to correct this is to upgrade your internet speed through your dsl by buying a higher grade internet connection such as fios through xfinity, though it is $20 more per month

1mbit/s is more than enough for 6v6 games.

Than I have the same exact problem as him, I can only play 3v3 games at the moment due to my internet speed which I first diagnosed as not enough data per second. If anyone could solve this issue, it would be greatly appreciated.

I'm pretty sure zooming in or out has no effect whatsoever on your connection, as the data to be sent is exactly the same. Any judder you are noticing is FPS lag, as rendering full high-polycount models is far more intensive than a bunch of 2D icons. Check your FPS (Hit '/' on your Numpad) to make sure it is not nuking from 60 down to 20 odd, and use ren_shownetworkstats to monitor your network statistics as you zoom in and out.

Not sure about the zooming issue.

For the 3v3 issue: How does it lag? Is it just a gradual thing, or does your ping shoot up to like 3000ms all the time?
If the latter, it's likely either your modem or your ISP throttling the number of outbound connections.

I have zero issues playing 3v3s, except for slow down later in the game from my proccessor and gpu.
Pings are green all the way through, on any maps.
Its only 4v4 +

Please post your computer ingredients.

Check out your ping ingame (F11).

And check out the networkstates (ren_shownetworkstates; you can open the console with "ö" (german keyboard))

Are you sure it's your connection that is spiking ? How did you came to this conclusion ?

Supcom 2 had an issue with my realtek audio drivers, same problems as you (frame drops when zoomed out). But the connection was okay.

There is no difference in the bandwith requirement when you are zoomed out or in.

A friend of mine had a similar problem with his notebooks sound card. It was set to 5.1 surround sound and this caused terrible lags ingame (FAF). After he set it back to stereo all was fine. Maybe you have the same problem?!
