Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4ghz
4 GB RAM
nVidia geforce 380m i think

I changed it to Stereo, it was on Quadriphonic before. I will test.
I am 100% sure my connection spikes. I see all other connetions get red, and i become behind on data, even though my internet is fine.

Edit: i Tested it. No change, ive tested on pingtest.net, A on close distance, B on far (California to Germany).
Zoomed all the way out = Green ping, Trying to zoom in quickly = Connection spike.

If BitDefender stats are reliable, for 4v4 on setons, with 20kB/s on upload, you should be fine.
That's 160kbit/s for upload that the game is using while playing.

I am pretty sure that's close to the real value.

When I was not using my epic singaporean connection, I was struggling to play because of my upload speed.

When it was around 200kbit/s it was very fine, but reaching 150-160 it was giving me some time outs and unstable connection for the game.

I guess you just need some extra from the values you could read on the firewall stats. Overall that ain't huge.
I usually play while downloading like crazy , with lots of torrents open, not an issue. The problem only happens if I use way too much of my upload bandwidth.

The symptoms you describe allow for all kinds of causes. If there is something going wrong with any part of your computer while you zoom in in may very well cause FA to not process network data for a brief period which would in turn manifest itself as a high ping spike. If it just so happens that everytime you zoom, your network decides to malfunction that would be a hell of a coincidence.

Yeah. Seems very likely that when you're zoomed in, something is taking so munch resource that your network data is not processed "Real time". You might want to reinstall your whole system, or create a new partition and boot from there (although this might be an issue with Zep surf detector thingie).

I guess you did already, but update your drivers , and disable any superfluous gfx effects like AA, vertical synch, etc... Just for test.

As the others said, really unlikely that your connection is the bottleneck inducing lag ONLY when you're zoomed in. Odd problem though.

only for the unexpected case the WLAN device causes this problem (if you are connected via WLAN), did you try to connect via LAN? I mean ... I don't expect that this is really the problem :) but its an easy thing to check ...

did you already try to set all graphic options to low, especially the resolution?
ranking :
~1500 global / ~1100 ladder
~1100 games / ~ 400 games
