2v2 Prime Commanders Tournaments (O3600 and U3600)

Signups close 30 minutes before the tournament start.

You may sign up for both brackets, however if you sign up for both, it must be with a different teammate. The players who have won the U3600 may not enter the O3600 bracket.

Ratings and divisions
There are two divisions:
Over 3600 and Under 3600 total combined rating. So for example a 1400 and 1700 would be in u3600, and therefore two 2000 rated players would be in O3600.
The highest rating of a player out of ladder or global rating will be used.

Each tournament will have a total of 8 teams, With the top 8 highest overall rated teams playing out of the signups.
This may also change if there are a very large amount of signups, most likely for the lower division.

Tournament Style

Full share is on for this tournament.

Groups:
For each tournament there will be 2 groups consisting of 4 teams all seeded by me. Each team will play each other twice in a bo1. However, you will play each team once before playing another team again in your group. Therefore each team will play at least 6 games in the entire tournament. The maps will be chosen by me from a selected bo1 map pool.
The top two teams of each group will proceed to semifinals.

Playoffs:
All playoff games are to be in a bo3. The first place teams will be play the second placed teams of the opposite group. All bo3's will have a veto system.

How the veto works
There will be a total of 13 maps to choose from. Teams will ban until there are 3 maps remaining. The remaining maps are to be played in alphabetical order.

Semifinals
2nd place team will ban first, then 1st place team and so forth.

Grand Finals and 3rd Place decider
The team with the most bo1 losses will ban first.

I will release both map pools a week or two before the first tournament starts. Note that both may have some of the same maps but I will try to mix it up.

Not allowing players O1800 and U1800 to play with eachother is a terrible idea

I personally think 1800 is a poor choice of pivot. There are many u1800s (I can think of some usual suspects...) who belong in the o1800 group.

In Hybrid's defense, I know the pains of wanting to have a tourney for people that are not as committed and/ or capable as the top players. Unfortunately, the global rating system doesn't help in creating divisions. This is why Team Matchmaker is needed so it can display a rating purely sourced from measuring skill for 2v2 sshd 3v3.

For that, I also agree with Farm that both participants meeting the rating limit is lame. I think a mix of high and average skill is fun to play and watch.

So nobody is going to even sign up for this tournament? Is there any prize money? I thought FtX was taking the ladder league money and giving it to this tournament instead, but that isn't announced in either thread? Seems like there are major promotion and communication issues going on.

Reading the tourneys section of the player councilor discord, hybrid stated he has PC issues and is going to postpone. I have yet to see this happen, but it's likely a good bet to not plan it happening.

Re-Read through the post and you will see a few changes, one of them being the rating restrictions. The Tournaments are of an under 3600 and an over 3600 rating bracket.

The under 3600 is the 11th of April 16:00 GMT

And the over 3600 is the 18th of April 16:00 GMT
