Would people like a switch to weeklies rather than fortnights? Discuss

Evildrew: Just because I didnt choose you for my team last year doesnt give you the right to be all bitchy and negative about my proposal

Would you remove anarchy week? Bracket week? Have both last only 3 or 4 days? Changing the champion twice a week seems a bit overkill to me.

Weekly is tough as there's a number of us that have mon-fri jobs and get home when it's midnight in Europe. The weekends are the only time both players can play without one rushing and or being tired.

I remember having to play a guy from New Zealand at 530 AM my time because others dragged their feet with previous matches.

In an ideal world it would be better to have a more dynamic, active tournament, and it MIGHT be doable... but you will need to force people to use doodle, have people post their availability in GMT when they sign up so you can matchmake the brackets, and/or just generally micromanage the shit out of people to get the brackets done in less than a week for popular divisions. Could also tell people if they sign up they have to be available for x hours late night for Euros on Saturdays (US Saturday afternoons, Asia/Australia/NZ Sunday mornings) and it's understood that the final brackets and finals are always played around this time. That sucks for Russians though so probably not workable.

Yup, this. I had more experiences than I can count along these lines as an Aussie - someone's always rushed or tired, or both (my U1500 loss to Picoo in a few hours will be me tired AND him rushed). It's just a lot more avoidable with a fortnight for the inter-timezone bracket matches to get blitzed out on the first weekend and then the final to still be playable on the second. Prob best to just stick with fortnightly timing for now imo...

I made him post three replays, counts as a win imo.

Signing up for next U1500 bracket cycle.

Side note: why is Roanoke Abyss not in the map pool? Probably one of the most popular island 20x20 maps, at least back in my time.
