Alt+f2 no longer working with cheats enabled

Recently I have been unable to bring up the cheat menu with alt f2. Both alt and f2 work fine seperately but when combined do absolutely nothing. Other players in the same game are still able to use cheats, but my menu refuses to appear. (This was also mentioned in the automatic nuke ping thread, but I have never installed that mod)

Turning off all mods does not fix it, and the only thing I can think of that I haven't tried yet is a full reinstall.

Get again a game ,turn cheats on ,press alt+F2.If it's not working,close the game and go at the top(from FAF) @ Help ~>SHow logs~>logs~>game.log~>copy everything and paste it in there~> pastebin.com and post the new link in here.

i am the guy, who described the problem in the "automatic nuke ping" thread. it helps to hear that you have the same problem....

i have a easy solution for you: delete the game.prefs file (located in win7 here: C:\Users\*yourname*\AppData\Local\Gas Powered Games\Supreme Commander Forged Alliance) and start the singleplayer FA.exe (not the lobby or the 3599 FA.exe). then you have to resetup all options you did in the game.
if you have a backup of the game.prefs file with working alt+f2 cheating, just replace the existing game.prefs file with the backup. this is really the easiest solution.

since i had the same problem multiple times and did quite some testing, i guess that it happens SOMETIMES with enabled mods. somehow the mods must interfere with the game.prefs file and alter it in a way that the alt+f2 cheating stops working. i had a hard time to recreate the problem, but it happened three times to me in the last month. it does not appear to happen often, but it is definitely an anoying bug if you do not know how to fix it. especially because of the fact that the game.prefs file gets NOT deleted by uninstalling FAF and FA completely, so the problem will persist if you do not know what to do.

Only mod I've used in about 8 months is GAZ, and it worked fine for a long time. I will try deleting the file the next time I'm on.

look at the post from 22 Sep, 2011. GAZUI does alter your game.prefs file and sometimes this is bad. the problem is definitely this mod. GAZUI needs to get fixed.

by knowing this, you can either try to avoid the problem or by deleting the game.prefs file.
