Can't patch from 1.5.3596 to 3599

Hi community,

well I have a problem patching my game from 1.5.3596 retail version (written ingame,I read that there sometimes is a bug and it shows a wrong version).When I try to patch it says:

'Error: Unable to find version 3596.'

What can I do?

Well for everyone else:

Run the manual patches as admin and in Win XP SP 3 compatibility mode. Try installing the game like that too and always run GPGnet like that as well.

This worked fine for me!

I believe I have the 1.5.3596 no securom version. Is it correct that a seperate patch from the 1.5.3596 -> 1.5.3599 is required? I tried links from THQ for a 3596 no securom to 3598 or 3599 but the links are dead. The second link in Ze_PilOt's post had a download section with a link to a no securom patch but it was also dead. Anyone know where I can find this patch today? Every promising site I check seems to no longer be active.

Try this link and patch, hopefully it'll work on your version even if it's a french patch (it says multi language patch)

Since the links are dead in GPG forum, the patch should be hosted here or in the download section of the website.

Try this page then, it works better for some reason than the direct ftp adress:

Just click "lancer le telechargement" (= start download), it should work better than the direct adress (which i posted first because it's a french website).

Made it a little further this time Pip, thanks again for your continued assistance! Downloaded the update successfully from your link. However, I have an Application Error:

Application has generated an exception that could not be handled.

Process ID=0xca0 (3232), Thread ID=0xa5c (2652).

I'll see if i can find anything about this, but I have only basic understanding in this sort of area.

Well I read a little and found that the process ID is generated each time you attempt to run the application? I imagine posting what it said is not very helpful lol.

I am going to purchase a new boxed or electronic version of FA so I can finally update. Pip or anyone have a recommendation of where to order a boxed copy or if that is not an option where to purchase a downloadable version? I am not on steam but I could get it just for FA I suppose if that is my only choice.
