Tomorrow (March 15th, Wednesday) there will be a MEGA-TOURNAMENT!!!
It will be played live on stream, starting on 18:00 GMT+3 (Moscow time). You need to be online to play then.
Those players are welcome - global rating - 300-800. Not 200, not 900. Games played - at least 10.
16 players total.

1st round:
2 FFAs on crazyrush (x1 res).
Two games because there are 16 players in tournament, and 8 slots on crazyrush map.
When 4 players die on crazyrush, the game ends - 4 surviving players go on to the 2nd round.

2nd round:
Asteroids, 2v2v2v2 (x2 res). Teams are random placements (balanced).
Winning team gets a point.
In second game another team gets a point (if the same team gets 2nd point - they go to finals).
Then 2 winning teams will play ASTEROIDS (x2 res). Team who wins - goes on to finals.

Finals:
1v1 MEGA BATTLE on The Pass with x2 res. BO3.

Blitz tournament allows 1hr in the future, so I think 24hrs in the future is okay.

Blitz is open for all ratings, (300-800 is very limiting) and is not a unique tournament, (very limiting) just a 1v1.

I understand your reservations Gorton, but IMO let him get on with it, maybe it helps the game and to attract more active new players Frequent tournaments organised by this guy are better than nothing no?

Avatars comes cheap these days.

I agree we need all the exposure that we can get and Yuri's tournaments will help allot.

Avatars remains the only reward we currently get and it would be a shame if the prestige associated with it is diminished. Avatars should not be given to tournaments with modded games unless it's under special circumstance such a tournament to promote a mod.

Definitely a fair chance should be given to all player to participate (obviously within the parameters the TD decides on).

A compromise could be made in limiting what avatars is given or releasing a special set of them. Faction avatars should not be on this list.

You guys should also consider that Yuri already has some audience from his streams and yt channel and he makes announcements there as well.

We know that he has a fairly large audiance (probably the biggest of all streamers on FAF) and appreciate the work he is doing. The point is that announcing the tournament at a reasonable time (eg 1 week in advance) doesn't take a lot and would make it more accessable (not everyone reads the forum every day to see if a new tournament is going to happen).

Also if he were to tell his audience about the tournament in time and "only" inform the rest of the community via a forum post shortly before it would kinda look like handing out avatars to his private audience which is something nobody wants to see.
