Well as far as i know a Top-20 tourney means, that every top20 player has a spot

Well as far as i know a Top-20 tourney means, that every top20 player has a spot

The problem there is that looking at the current ladder leaderboard about 1/3rd of the people on the top 20 if not half have not been around in a long time or are around and simply don't have interest in playing. So they would have to either do an incomplete tourney without the whole 20 or just keep inviting people until they get the top 20 "active players." and ofc neither would be efficient.

So unless they create a 3rd ladder rating thing leaderboard for this tournament and base top 20 on that, running these monthly qualifier tournies is a good idea as it gives the high tier players of the current time and era in FAF a chance to compete and qualify for the finale with a bigger finale like cash prize in FAF.

Also... I seem to particularly remember a certain Heartler not being interested in playing due to amount of people anyways so.... monthly qualifiers for active higher level players are better.

i bring some news about this tourney.

1) Arkitect will be casting this! So prepare your BOs, becouse they will be judged closely
2) Prize pool updated!
3) Added few maps into map pool (marked with * symbol)

I just want to mention based off the thread LegendOftheStars made regarding this series will lead up to a "qualification" for a major tournament with a large cash pool prize rather small ones like this specific one.

Thanks Morax, Zock has it under control.

We want the end of year championship to be a highlight for active players so the small tornies as qualifying rounds are a great idea (given the ladder may not be completely reflective of active players). Thus Zock will tweak the Championship format to achieve the best outcome for the major tournament.
