Just watched all 4 games of round 1, here are some replay review for anyone interested.
Winner Bracket Round 1 ReviewA - Zlo & Gently vs Franky & YorickWhat's worth watching: Zlo neat expansion and coordination with teammate (I think he helped him with TS as there's no chat).
B - Exotic Retard & Epson vs Econoob & FreshyWhat's worth watching: Well executed winning strategy.
C - Jagged Appliance & Nexus of Reality vs Blodir & StupsWhat's worth watching: Do watch this one. You won't regret it.
Classic mind-blowing action packed thriller with ups and downs and ascending drama with epic final. No weak link here, on a 2x2 game with only one way to go, all 4 show a nice way of push/defend/counter/upgrade/mix comm with units/reclaim and so forth, and after they have trown it all, you still don't know what will be the outcome, or think you know just to be spoiled, more than once.
D - System Failure & Airassy vs Tokyto & HZHWhat's worth watching: Tokyto winning move, and not a boring moment on this short game.
Edit: I like this, going to keep it going.
Edit 2: I'm no expert on this game, so don't take for granted what I say, it's just my own opinion and thoughts that I'm sharing.
Winner Bracket Round 2 ReviewEpic round, some very unique games.
Map - Badlands
A split gameplay here - one gets one corner of the map and expands vertically into the enemy and the other expands horizontally getting 3x more mass deposits to cover, also 3 hidrocarbon Power plant. The twist is that the vertical expansion guy that have mostly just one side to focus will face the horizontal expansion enemy, trying to stop him from expanding in that vast area filled with mass deposits. Also, tons of mass and energy to reclaim.
A - Adjux & KoisQ vs Zlo & GentlyWhat's worth watching: The game.
Oh boy, I thought it was going to be another walk in the park for Zlo and Gently but KoisQ and Adjux had a different plan...
Nice aspect to learn: This game is a great example of how sending a big army and not destroing the enemy can really backfire as they reclaim all the mass. Also going for a experimental in detriment of smaller units while doing that doesn't help, but boy if that exp got online in time....
B - Invictus & Silent vs Econoob & FreshyWhat's worth watching: Sneaky T2 tanks
The hunter becomes the hunted - If on the previous round Econoob and Freshy were the ones dictating the pace and expansion, this one is the opposite, and shows very well how much of this game is a war for space.
C - Chosen & Pappy vs Blodir & StupsWhat's worth watching: The game.
D - Self & Voodoo vs Tokyto & HzhWhat's worth watching: Beautifull coordination of the winning team.Self harass the opponent on the right while Voodoo goes for a very well timed and executed UEF T2 push with a gunned commander, it just keeps on rolling. Check out the number of kills on the commander. And the end also a nice pic of a coordinated win.
Another nice things: The strat of sharing 1 t1 pgen at start to help the ally and beautifull expansion from Voodoo and his decision to go T2 was made after reading the opponent with scouts.
Fun fact: the first time I watched, I also didn't see the rush coming, putting the focus on that fight for the other side and also thought the Top guys were doing better as they were using their T2 way ealier. Also, I can't get used to the fast paced games on FAF, it seems this one kept on going at least for the double amount of time than it did, too much happening for the brain to digest.
Lower Bracket Round 1 ReviewA - Tokyto & Hzh vs Franky & YorickWhat's worth watching: Gunned commander galore or how to loose when you are 2x1.
B - Chosen & Pappy vs Exotic_Retard & EpsonWhat's worth watching: Chosen's expansion.
C - Econoob & Freshy vs Jagged Appliance & NexusWhat's worth watching: Lol
D - Adjux & Kois vs System Failure & AirassWhat's worth watching: Solid push.
Lower Bracket Round 2 ReviewA - Tokyto & Hzh vs Chosen & PappyWhat's worth watching: Close calls!!! Good game man.
B - Econoob & Freshy vs Adjux & KoisQWhat's worth watching: Perfect tactic, wrong target.
Winner Bracket Round 3 ReviewA - Zlo & Gently vs Invictus & SilentWhat's worth watching: Tight game first 14min and then... watch for yourself.
B - Blodir & Stups vs Self & VoodooWhat's worth watching: Finally someone using the terrain advantage on this map (casted 15 games or so in previous tourneys and nothing of this sort.)
Lower Bracket Round 3A - Invictus & Silent vs Chosen & PappyWhat's worth watching: Non-stop action.
B - Self & Voodoo vs Adjux & KoisQWhat's worth watching: Action wasn't non-stop, but when it happen.....
Lower Bracket Semifinal Review(As round 4 in the folder, decided to go for the Dota championship bracket names)
A - Invictus & Silent vs Adjux & KoisQWhat's worth watching: Long, Solid intense battle everywhere, decided in details.Winner Bracket Final ReviewA - Zlo & Gently vs Blodir & StupsWhat's worth watching: After 7 min it goes wild man. Freaking epic, very worthy of the upper bracket final.
Lower Bracket Final Review(As semifinal on the folder)
A - Zlo & Gently vs Invictus & SilentWhat's worth watching: The biggest land battle. The frontline was a constant clash of 4 deathballs.Grand FinalsA - Zlo & Gently vs Blodir & StupsWhat's worth watching: It's nice to see a 2x2 with very high skill and a lot at stake at this map for a change. Instead of the relaxed 4x4 just for fun regular games. Oh, dat Sea Battle up north.
B - Zlo & Gently vs Blodir & StupsWhat's worth watching: This one I had way more fun watching it for a third time when I used Zlo team as point of view and in real speed, instead of fast forwarding. The first 2 times I did the regular fast forward and it looked way more one-sided. Now it wasn't clear who would win until near the end.
