Okay Time to Pass on the WWPC

I had a very refreshing convo about what the community needs and will be putting forth efforts there.

No details yet but running the tournament is not it right now!

Two-three weeks until I start that so if you want to take over the WWPC (serious applicants only) please let me know.

I do believe Kalvirox is interested but speak up and I'll help transition you or whatever group over.

Hey, while I appreciate the WWPC, I do think it's not a very attractive format to play for most people (or at least for me), and here's why:
- No hype (games don't seem to hold any special importance, they are not casted or anticipated in any way)
- Lackluster prizes (nobody really cares about the title/avatar, for sure partly because wwpc is so unpopular and unhyped)
- After winning once, you are expected to play again next week. It's much easier to deal with a single tournament and prizes that actually stay with you instead of being removed after a week
- Arranging games is a pain - on top of actually having to play you have to go through trying to find a time for you and your opponent to play

I think we should move on from WWPC and into a more succesful tournament format.

Blodir, I agree and appreciate the feedback, although my mind is made up after discussing it with people for awhile. I acted on impulse before and that gut feeling panned out. It's not ideal to act impulsively yet in this case it's true.

My main reason for leaving is to help support some other areas such as the mentioned lack of casting. I don't know why we lost TA4Life as a caster and Gyle is too busy with family (good reason, not taking a jab at you Gyle!) I think.

It would be a shame to waste all the effort previously put into it.
We also don't have to keep the same format. WWPC could be transferred into a 3 monthly thing, so roughly 4 times a year, keeping current brackets and being a SE or DE tournament?

You're correct that we lack casting right now so I'm glad you'll put some time into that area.

What if we had a NA and an EU division? That essentially eliminates the preeminent issue WWPC has. Each week (or whatever we decide on for an appropriate time period for knockouts) we will have 1 top guy from EU and 1 top guy from NA which means only 1 game to schedule with a significant TZ conflict. Sorry AU...

Actually I like the idea of a league like Jagged suggested.

NA EU divisions? First you have to see if there's enough interest on both sides to warrant it. Otherwise you could end up with two very small divisions or one of them could be oversized in comparison to the other.
