Not played as much as the others why not?

Has a decent T4 Arty, has a good ASF, has a good T2 gunship, has best T2 Assault bot, Damn that thing kicks ass in numbers, can build energy and Mfabs just like everybody else, has PD, has TMLs, has wide area TML just like Cybran, I don't see the weakness of this race yet. Giant bomber is sort of a scam though, because the bomb doesn't always drop and it doesn't have really good armor so it usually only gets to make one or two passes if that. Usually flying too fast to become a good drop on target sacrifice too, but the Yotha isn't terrible. No T3 gunship but so what? No Mobile T3 SAMs, = more mass to build great ASFs.

Tell me where I am going wrong here.

I don't really see any compelling reason to go with Aeon over the Seraphim unless you count Mercies as an effective tool which I don't and T3 gunships which are really slow compared to strats. Over Cybran they have better ASFS and A-RAS, superior shields. Over UEF they have an Aerial Experimental which doesn't cost either 10 or 15 minutes of mass to build in the Sat, or the Duke.

Tell me what I'm missing.

sera is played as much as the other. That's what you are missing ^^

There is some people who are afraid to go T3 stage with sera. and sera isn't the best choice for air.

that's pretty much all I can say.

the ythotha is good, but its not a real turtle buster and thats phim strongest unit. Otthuums are horribly outmatched with other t3, aeon t3 has restos and GC's, which are better than chickens. Mercies can be AMAZING if used right, you cant micro and dodge them like you can nothas. They only have two useful experimental units compared to 4 from cybran, 2 from aeon, and equal to uef. sera scu's cant get ras to boost super late game eco, (overcharge is useful tho). The t4 bomber is actually really good if you use it right, but it takes a lot of micro to use correctly.

I don't find most players playing Sera, but I play mostly gap and setons, still looking for another good map, maybe open palms is good, seems to never be enough games going up of that, but its largely gap for team games which is what I like to play.

It would seem that the bomber fails to drop bombs for me at times, of course which means a 2nd pass, and of course that means twice the opportunity to be shot down.

Not sure who isn't playing sera, in 1v1 sera is one of the strongest factions because of its excellent t1 air/land and t2 land/navy. In team games sera has plenty of strengths as well: t2 guncom, acu tml, t2 pds, t1 & t2 hover, t1 bomber, double ras, awassa. They are weak on t3/t4 land stage though, but in team games that may be less of a problem because on t3 you just build arties and on t4 you use an engie from another player.

Of course gap is different since it's not a real map. You just turtle all day there and then make t3 arty or a scathis, so faction differences are pretty much moot except for those units.

LOL I love how everybody describes it as not a real map.

Uagh the rambo Sera support commander is amazing with OC for team games

Try this:

1) 2 T3 mobile arty paried one t3 mobile shield to guard it (stops it from being killed by other t3 arty or bombers)
2) Sniper bots (a dozen of these will stop percies and bricks from advancing)
3) Support comms
4) throw in a few othuums to stop advances that get too close and put your sniper/arty to slight retreat

They are not a simple "throw a big exp at your opponent" race, but I really do enjoy their late game more than others.

Yeah on Gap , the simplest and way too easy way to win is to bunkle up until min 16 or so, and then combine efforts into a scathis. It's a very cheap game ender on that map.

I think these guys are my new favorite race. I have really enjoyed their T2 Assault bot, haven't done a mass 4-6 T2 factory build rush but I am thinking that 40 of these guys combined with a battery of 4-6 TMLs or a T2 airstrike would overwhelm a comprehensive defense on Gap allowing a breakthrough.

My favorite so far is that their TMD appears to be about as effective as Cybran TMD while their shields are really just insanely effective even under arty fire.
