I always thought supcom's pathfinding was bad but if you aren't in a hurry it's actually pretty amazing.
watch through it at 10x speed, it starts at minute 5.
I'm wondering if assisting a central unit could actually be useful in a match.

The problem isn't noticed much with the light assault bots because of their small size and high manoeuvrability. The problem becomes clear with the engineers when they move from building something to another place to build something else. Engineers stand close together, all want to move at the same time and then bump into each other. This is also the part where everyone is in a hurry, it's a competitive thing.

I have used the assist a unit order one time with a fatboy. Several T2 shields around it, taking one out as soon as it dropped and putting it back in when it was activated again. That way, I won against two fatboys. :)
