New map preview looks awesome.
Is it just me or did someone get rid of that annoying lag when you hit the choose-map button?
Nice work

Sure did: https://github.com/FAForever/fa/commit/ ... 6ad609aebe

Previously, it would actually load an invisible version of the options menu and synthesize a click event on the random map button there, which is pretty hilarious (and explains how it managed to take ~3 seconds to do its thing).
More generally, there's been pretty extensive performance improvements all across the lobby. It's still pretty dreadful, but I was able to kill of some of the more insane bits (like the truly gigantic freeze-time when you join a game that already has lots of people in it, and how switching faction with factional skinning enabled used to take ~2 seconds). Have a peruse of the commit logs if you like, it tells a pretty entertaining story in places.

There are still irritatingly many "teething problems", but most of the particularly bad ones are fixed now. Once Sheeo comes back online today we'll probably be pushing one final hotfix that ought to kill off the few remaining problems.

Sorry for the slightly bumpy ride.
This is what happens when someone unexpectedly insists on a release "immediately" while I'm bedridden. *grumble*.

Please adjust the Alt-F2 menu (cheat menu) as most of the icons / descriptions are very difficult to see.
Note: Playing in windowed mode.

I emerged briefly yesterday with large amounts of painkillers. Somewhat paying for it today.

Don't get antibiotic resistant bacterial tonsolitis. It's deeply unpleasant.

I've heard this for some time, but never actually used the menu before I broke it so just assumed it was supposed to be like that.
I'll prod it with a stick in a bit. I'll first look at what it's supposed to look like. Probably fallout from making the checkbox class not be retarded.

Yeah it's a side effect of the checkboxes change. It was known about, but I guess that it was deemed of lowest priority because it still works, and it's kind of non-essential. The changes to the lobby, the speed-up, and the connection protocol changes underneath took priority. It will be fixed in a bit :)
