Addicted to Faf

Postby Rapier31 » 10 Mar 2015, 19:03

I find myself becoming ever increasingly addicted to this game. I've been sitting at my desk at work daydreaming up different strategies and tactics and bo's. I tremble with anticipation of the thought of dropping that 1 game changing bomb, or denying that crucial piece of Intel from the enemy that would culminate in total domination over the enemy team. I've been finding that my thoughts are deviating more and more to this and away from my real life responsibilities. It doesn't help that I really only have 1 or 2 hours a day to actually play. I supplement it with all manner of casts and replays throughout the day. How does one manage the all encompassing awesomeness of this alternate reality, whilst maintaining a semi functional and productive life? I'm torn...

Its fairly simple to make more time for FAF. First you start sacrificing sleep. Then you have to start finding more innovative ways. Making only food that is very fast and in such a way that you can eat it while you play. Finding fastest possible route to get back after work to give you a few more seconds of game time. Postpone real life responsibilities and pretend they don't exist. Skip meals if you have to make room for the next game. Then remove contact with the outside world. Not that I have done any of these things.

Heh, I'm also in the same boat, and I know a few other folks as well. It's an awesome game and an awesome community. I don't really have a good answer aside from keeping passionate about other things. You do what you're passionate about. If you watch casts all day you'll want to go home and play FAF. If you watch tutorials about underwater basket weaving you'll want to go home and do that. Okay, probably not, but the point is -- make time for other things and you will want to make time for other things.

Of course, after a hard day at work, there's nothing like binge-ing FAF for the evening, and sometimes that's OK.

That's a bit weak. You need a LITE sbox software for when you're on the go :)

To cure severe FA addiction, i suggest..

Thermo™: 6v6 noobs only, no air, no game enders, No experimentals, no artillery, no nukes, cpu score > 400, ping >1000

A therapy session of only one evening Thermo™ will cure any FA addiction instantly, permanently. Phone your local psychologist to arrange a session. Try now, better than ever.
