Game appears to run smoother with affinity 1-7 and not core 0, priority set to high. I wonder if I simply set the priority to high if it would have the same effect. Have yet to play a game where I wanted to test this where I am running lower than +2

Running GTX 970, FX-8350, 32GB DDR3 RAM 250GB SAMSUNG 850 EVO SSD.

Number one, I've played around with it quite a bit; for me - priority is half the combination and doesn't seem to give the same bang as doing both; personal experience anyhow... I do bet it isn't as smooth when just changing the priority for most - I really feel the oversaturation of the first core is what causes things to be "less smooth."

Number two, join a Phantom game or a Setons match - They will surely rape your FX-8350 into the minus simspeeds :)

I tried this and it was not really enough.

Just like setting just the affinity is not enough also.

Use both :)

Ran in windowed mode to test and then in full screen. I can verify on the FX-8350 the leftmost cpu core in the task manager on Win 7 appears to take the entirety of the primary thread and while additional threads and processes are spread along the other cores, primarily 4 other cores when I perform the above indicated steps, the leftmost cpu core in the task manager doesn't max out, in fact none of the other cores appears to max out, and the workload appears to distribute more evenly across the other cores.

I can recommend
http://www.bitsum.com/prolasso.php
This remembers the settings of priority and affinity.
