There just was a talk in aeolus about how tutorials aren't introduced good enough in FAF, and that has been a known issue for quite some time.
So I think with the councilor idea being done it's a good time to get some work done on a tutorials tab. Yeah, as I assume players councilor would be someone doing all the interaction with the community, which tutorials are a part of. Voting is still not finished, but i suggest, whoever will become a councilor should get a team of some pro player and coder to renew the tutorial tab. There are some decent tutorials (like sheppards) out there which also need to be linked in the tutorials tab.
First thing to do is to show a new player that this tab exists. Funny, because its really easy to see, but yeah, we all know that people aren't exactly attentive and even though this is just a community-driven project, they expect it to be done professionally, with all the tutorials just popping up in their faces. The default tab should stay at "What's new" but i suggest making a pop-up window after joining aeolus (like when you are moved into a tournament channel), which will pop up every time you log in, but can be turned off completely in lobby settings, it will be telling a person about tutorial tab and how to make this message not appear every time they log into faf.
Tutorial tab should start with very short introduction and telling that you can switch sub-tabs on top of the faf lobby (yeah, again, obvious ). After which a FAQ with list of common questions regarding how faf works, all its functions, how to start the game and so on with some useful forums, youtube links mixed in. And then there should be sub-tabs, which are divided by their purpose (teamgames/1v1/senton? xD) where inside the sub-tabs they are divided by more specific purposes, like how to micro land/how to tech up on large sized maps etc. Another layer of separation would be Beginners/Intermediate, though i have no idea if you can create like a folder-tree kind of system so its all sorted there, or you will have to just make alot of sub-tabs. Ill leave it to coders.
Again, i think this would be a good starting poing for a player councilor. Im sure that any pro player with a mic and some time can create a decent tutorial, if this idea goes through I will help myself. If you are someone who is potentially the guy involved in this, please consider pushing it.
