Okay so, do you remember when this was a thing that I did like 2 episodes of and then stopped because I was trying to do them too frequently? Well I am bringing it back hurrah!

So for the third edition I am going to interview Visionik, the date has not been properly arranged yet but it will be sometime in the nearest of near futures and I wanted to open up most of the questioning to the community!

This sounds interesting. I actually saw him online yesterday and I clicked on his name to PM him but I couldn't think of anything significant to ask him. It does feel weird having a millionaire as the head of FAF. I can't quite believe how lucky we have been. Can you ask him if it is awkward when playing ladder if people don't know who he is? Or is that a trolly question?

Flynn. To my Knowledge he plays setons and from a couple of his replays it seems people on the whole don't go "omg it's visionik"

visionik outlined a list of priorities, in a loose order of what they would be done in, a couple of months ago in aeolus. Can you get him to update the community on what these priorities are and draw him out on what each priority means for the people doing it and for the community when it's done. This included things like galactic war and team matchmaker, redoing the lobby and server in all sorts of ways to make it less buggy. There were/are also plans in the works to allow a lot more UI customisation that would be completely fucking awesome. Can you recap what is planned for the Council? Other than the actual "what happens next" stuff, which he should talk about anyway, how much more generally does he expect to be delegating to the council, how much oversight will be have of the decision making process and the final decisions etc.

If that doesn't take up the bulk of the interview - some quick questions: can you just reset and reactivate galactic war? There's an appetite to play it even without any further improvements. Is there scope to get access to the FA engine code? This would obviously be a complete gamechanger, literally. It would be awesome if visionik could explore it with whoever's got it (and is doing nothing with it but would profit from increased FA sales and the buyout if they gave it to us) and could find out the ball park costs - tens of thousands of USD (we could crowd fund that easily) or millions (not worth it unless visionik is Mark Zuckerberg)?

Question: Does visionik have plans for keeping the FA(F) community and playerbase healthy and expanding? Increasing the attractiveness of the FAF platform is probably as vital in the long run as getting the internal systems (council, volunteers) set up. The front page of faforever.com for example looks quite outdated and might give the impression that the game is unattractive or outdated. While it can in fact (more than) compete with modern games.

Question: Visionik off-handedly mentioned funding some big tournaments this year in a thread a while back, could we get some clarification on this?

Zock asked about Tourny directors - I think this is part of promoting and growing the community, so it would be in the promoters group. BTW, I plan on sponsoring some MAJOR tournaments to bring old players back to the game and new players into it. For example, I am going to run at least one tournament with a $10,000 grand prize. My #1 goal for FAF is to make it more fun, and my #2 goal is to get more players into the game. And I think tournaments are going to play a big part in both of those goals.

The numner of people in Aeolus is now over 1000 in peak times which is great i think...does he have any number in mind he wants to achive, and if yes how does he want to make that happen?

What's the thing he worries the most about concerning faf?

What does he think about frequent rating resets?

Err.. Firstly, Does he still do this shit anymore? Secondly, What am I supposed to ask him considering he does not actually contribute to this game anymore, and thirdly how do you propose that I get him in the first place? I don't think he cares anymore. He has made his money and that's it.

LOL well that last part is a bit harsh, but you obviously can't ask him any development related questions anymore. So perhaps there are other questions to ask him like "does he secretly play on FAF" ?
