If you right click a player in lobby chat there is an entry to View Player Statistics (or something like that). But this option only shows you their Global Ranking, not their Ladder Ranking. Why is that and where can you view similar statistics for their Ladder Ranking?
It seems to me that someones Global Ranking isn't a particularly useful statistic, if they specialize in playing certain roles on one or two different maps, in a stack of voice commed friends against random strangers, then isn't their Global Ranking going to be rather inflated? I'm far more interested to see how someone performs in the ladder, which I consider a much truer indication of someones ability.
Also I've played a couple of ladder matches where after the match I've gone into the Ladder Rankings tab of the lobby to search for my opponent to check how good they were, only to find that no such player exists! How is that even possible? Surely anyone you play a ladder match against must be in the ladder somewhere? Oddly enough this only seems to occur in matches where I win, so I suppose it is possible that after losing to such a noob as myself these people simply deleted their accounts in disgust.
