Adding maps to ladder pool

Postby Mad`Mozart » 01 Oct 2014, 20:19

Wanted to ask to add some maps in current pool.
Zep said he was open to adding new maps before so i assume it still can stay true unless we come up with different way to manage the pool. Or not.

Anyway, the maps are from the teamgame tourney back then:
the_pyramid
Tabula rasa v3
(thanks to Apofenas for fixing starting position for these):
Cauldron small
Wonder 4v4 v3b

They were very well receivied by people who played in the tourney so why not add them to the pool? I know its been a while, but still :) Note that the names given here are exactly the same as you find them in the vault. All of the maps above were checked to have correct 1 and 2 starting positions so they can be played in ladder.

Another map i want to propose is Stella Maris 1v1.
Its one of the new maps that is very popular in teamgames and was adjusted to played 1v1 too (thanks TheBush... or w/e your name now is :) )

With this we should have more odd positions for certain maps that are still symmetrical.
An example being wonder where instead of fighting top down, the players could be on the same side with the entire top or bottom expansion open. Or another example being syrtis major and starting on the same side. Obviously i'm not 100% sure these are symmetrical, but it would be cool having multiple possible starting positions for some maps.

What you mean is having mirrored positions :)
If you take a look, most if not all maps now are made and played with rotation symmetry (like syrtis etc).
And i cant really recall playing any map with mirror symmetry actually... so not sure what i think about it.

Cool maps! Burial mounds, dual arches are also nice.

To make sure that the ladder pool doesn't get too big lets remove some maps too:

1. Cluster freak
2. Wilderness
3. Four corners
4. Paradise

Yes mirror symmetry, it would be quite a nice refresher on certain maps, even if they have to be modified.

Because paradise is a map where aeon/sera have a large advantage over cyb/uef and it's unfair?
