AMA: Ask Visionik "the owner" anything

Hi Folks. As you probably saw from the news at http://www.faforever.com/2014/09/future-of-faf/ I have worked out a deal with ze_pilot to take over FAF.

However, I do not see myself as "the owner", which is why I put it in quotes. FAF is owned by the community. I simply stepped in to start the transition to a new era of community guidance. As part of that, the plan is to open source all FAF code under a GPLv3 license as soon as possible.

In the meantime everything will be business as usual. Mods are the same mods, rules are the same rules. We are laying the groundwork for how community guidance will work.

A few things about me:

I'm American. I split time between Florida, California, and Europe - mostly Germany.

I am an entrepreneur/investor. I started off life as a software engineer, but most of my time is spent starting, buying, and selling companies now.

I love FAF and the FAF community. I've been playing RTS since Herzog Zwei, TA since the day it came out, and SupCom since the day it came out too.

Any other questions at all? Post them here... I have to step out for an hour or so, but I'll be back.

Wonderful news that this has been resolved so quickly, Ze_Pilot should be very proud for all that he has achieved over the years, and for handling this so well. Best of luck to you Visionik, long live FA!

Visionek, what was your name on TA? I'm from those days back then and was very active. I've seen RTS genre from birth until now; this is the place to be.

Your statement about incorporating a "number of leaders" is very pleasing as I think this community has grown so large that it will need it.

I'm glad to see Zep decided to give the community to a new owner in this fashion. I was worried, but that was a great move.
