If you watch twitch streams of someone like Zock or Pacuriko you will quickly realize that the reason they are better than you is 1% eco, 1% micro and 98% absence of UI lag.
Having this game installed on many systems with different OS, mice, video cards, etc. I have compiled a list of things that may or may not help and may be mutually exclusive or destructive assuredly.
Disclaimer some things below likely have nothing to do with mouse lag and are the result of mental illness.
0. Get latest drivers for mouse/GPU and uninstall any viruses, etc...
1. Go to your video card control panel desktopsizeposition: set scaling to NO SCALING
2. Go to your video card control panel turn off vsync globally
3. Go to FA executable (FAF folder BIN), go to properties and check "disable scaling at high DPI settings"
4. In windows 7 go to personalization and select Windows 7 basic theme
5. In windows 8 you can enable the hidden aero lite theme (search google how to do it)
6. Once game starts TAB out go to mouse settings and turn on the "show mouse trails" option, then TAB back in.
7. After every restart go to mouse settings and change "pointer speed" to a different value, hit apply, then set back to your original value hit apply
There are many others but I will spare you
In game. Set fidelity to medium.
Remove any files from the gamedata folder that you put there to make the replay sync program work.
play cybran
Get the console ++ 1.01 mod somewhere and have it run the following commands everytime you start a game:
ConExecute("ren_SelectionSizeFudge 0")
ConExecute("ren_SelectionHeightFudge 0")
ConExecute("ren_SelectBracketMinPixelSize 0")
ConExecute("ren_SelectBracketSize 0")
ConExecute("ren_SelectionSizeFudge 0")
ConExecute("UI_DisableCursorFixing")
If you are really desperate you can run
ConExecute("DisableUIChecks") (check the spelling for this command in the console first)
Use the following commands to optimize the mouse behavior to your preference:
ConExecute("ui_ExtractSnapTolerance x") x from 3 to 20
ConExecute("ui_SelectTolerance x") x from 3 to 20
ConExecute("ui_CommandClickScale x") x from 0.3 to 1.3
Use the following to adjust field a view in a way to make reclaiming comfortable
ConExecute("cam_FarFOV x") x from 50 to 150 if you f*** with it too much some maps will look weird, at setting above 200 you begin to experience Planetary Annihilation
Make reclaim more visible
ConExecute("ren_MeshDissolveCutoff -10000") Note: will only work for freshly made reclaim
PS I prefer high DPI settings with low windows pointer speed. Please do not mention mouse acceleration in any replies to this post.
