The problem of many rts games with a lot of players is that at some point most players wait for the others to finish the game. It's really awful for the noob players everytime to wait. So there should be a game mode were you cant die and which keeps being interesting.
Let's take the murder part mod as base and extend it with the concept of vassals and hegemons:
- Basically an ACU never dies/or explodes, but the player becomes a vasal, when he is about to die. So the new hegemon gets a point the new vasal looses a point.
- If a hegemon is defeated he becomes vasal and all of his vasals switch to the new hegemon. if a vasal player has more points than the new hegemon he gets independent again.
- A vasal gets the same target as the hegemon. if a vasal defeats the target he gets a point and a half point goes to his hegemon.
- if you are defeated as vasal you loose a point and your ACU will be teleported near the hegemon's.
- you never have less than 0 points
-The bonuses you get depend on the points you have. The resource bonus you get depends on the points you have: something like:
total income = income + income * sqrt(points) //relative bonus
or
total income = income + (points * t1 mex, points * t1 hydro) // absolut bonus
