Portable FAF?

Hi Guys,

Sorry in advance if this not appropriate for the forum. I am planning on a sup com lan party (trying to convert some Dota player to faf). So I have use my steam files to create a portable plug and play version of FA.

I am wondering is there a way that I can incorporate the patches in FAF (and maybe the norman mod as well?) into a portable plug and play file?

(:P it is not fun if you are revert back to building support commander and then upgrading them instead of building them upgraded).

Once again I aplogise if this offends anyone due to the nature of making a game portable is borderline legal.. I do have multiple steam copies of the game though.

Porting steamfiles wont be discussed here, though i think it's save to tell that if you have a retail version you can just everybot let install it from CD and patch it with .3599 update (it's not needed for FAF but it removed the CD check).

As for FAF, i dont see why you would port stuff around, just download the newest version and let everybody install it.

Unfortunally we had to remove the norman mod, because the english people around here claimed them to be agressors that killed the King and conquered England, maybe you want to try out the Nomads mod, which was create to replace it with a fictional race in order to not offend anything, though, you need FAF to play it, but like i already said, just give them FAF setup exe and an internet connection or copy your programmdata/faf/gamdata nomads files and put them in the same folder after FAF installment

hey guys,

thanks for the answers. But yea in summary, I already have portable version of FA from my steam account. But was trying to incorporating faf patches into that. But it seems like it is impossible.

Cause at lan party if the game requires install, most people wouldn't be stuffed to do that. And we will reverted back to like other plug and play game. I will try to get them into supreme commander with my normal fa i reckon.
