Stealth and transports

Postby prodromos » 10 Jun 2014, 23:52

It has been quite a while since I have tried it and it seemed to work, but I never bothered to verify it.
Supposing your enemy doesn't have omni, does putting a mobile stealth vehicle on a transport hide it from t2 or t1 radars?
Does anyone know?

Even if it hides transports from t1 and t2 only it is enough.
I thought Zlo was using an omni in his presentation video, but anyway, hiding from t1 and t2 radars is more than enough.

Misunderstanding about the term omni. In the video, ZLO does use an omni sensor, commonly just called "an omni", i.e. a T3 radar. That thing has an "omni" range that is smaller than it's radar range.

When you select the omni sensor, you see a blue line, which is radar range, and a burgundy line, which is omni range. ZLO marked omni range with wall segments. The range of omni of a T3 radar happens to be the same as radar range of a T2 radar.
Omni is also present (small range) on ACU, SCU, Galactic Colossus and spy planes.

Omni has an inner and outer circle.

If the transport with the mobile stealth goes within that inner circle it will be seen.

I never understood why the T3 radar is called an Omni-sensor. It really seems to confuse people. It's a T3 radar that also has an omni sensor. It's not like the whole radius is omni, the intel overlay males that abundantly clear. If we are ever going to adjust the unit names/descriptions, let's please change the description to "T3 radar".
