AI Improvements?

I just got into Forged Alliance Forever and it seems great.

Only issue I've briefly found is the AI seem a bit predictably easy. Maybe I've not played it enough or I'm doing something wrong. I'm tried using the Sorian AI Adaptive, rush & turtle. On island maps I don't see Sorian Rush AI sending more than two transports of units at a time... just things like that.

I remember playing vanilla FA + Sorian & Duncanes AI Fix and the AI seemed more difficult. I remember a friend and I were playing a game where the AI were beating us down but we were slowly regaining control but then the AI seemed to adapt by massing a large force to take us out in one swoop (like 100 t2 fighter/bombers in one attack).

Why doesn't AI perform mass attacks like that adaptively as opposed to constantly spamming small groups? (or am I missing stuff?)

I think that in order to boost AI level, you need to tweak their cheat factor. For instance, if you fight against default Sorian AI (no cheating AI) on a map with proper AI markers, and you win too easily, try Sorian AI X with reasonable AIX cheat multiplier = 1.4, or 1.5, or 1.6, etc (they will get more resources). You can also adjust AIX buildmultiplier (they will build faster). Try to set both parameters to 1.4 and see if it helps, and adjust accordingly. Difficulty will also greatly differ depending on the map.
