Voice Chat!!!???

I would love to use mumble or skype or something.

I'm new, so before I download more ware on my rig I'd like to know if a lot of people actually use it. Cuz that would be soooooo beneficial.

Yes, i use skype, but only with buddies, so not with new people I meet on FAF. Playing with skype is a lot of fun if u and your teammate don't take it too seriously and can laugh about mistakes rather than get mad at each other

Dunno about mumble, never used it. Some others guys around here probably will tell you more.

we have mumble server

on top of faf there is "links -> mubmle"
it will just launch your mumle and autoconnect to FAF server

Exactly! We need to get more people on the mumble chat! There are more people now than there used to be, but there is a ton of room for improvement..... Games where your entire team is in voice chat is cause for celebration

Agreed. I find it a massive waste of time deterring yourself from your game to let your teammate know of something. I really wish people were on it more...

Is there a way to get the casters to start their cast with a mumble reminder? cuz that would help I think. because I avidly watch Casts, as i am new that is my main form of learning.

I tried once mumble with faf, but I had only a weak 2 Core CPU. It slowed the game a bit down and so i didn't use it. What I wonder is how you are dealing with all the different languages. There are people that dont speak english. For me it takes just some minutes till i feel comfortable, but there is this barrier in my head i have first to overcome. This helds me back from using mumble. That's propably also the reason for others to not use mumble.

ya I could see that happening. Idk I get competitive with RTS games. I just love efficient team play. Although i agree that although i have no problem with other languages, i find it quite annoying to deal with people that cant communicate with me. But thats something that's out of our hands. I'm just thankful people still play this awesome game...
