How to see power leeching?

Postby Elikian » 26 Mar 2014, 16:01

Hi all,

Excuse me if this is maybe a noobish question. But this is something I've been wondering for a while.

When a fellow player has a power excess and you have too little, his power will overflow to you. Filling your energy storage and keeping it full too.
However, I am not aware that that is happening. When suddenly the power influx stops, my full economy grinds to a halt because i didn't anticipate it and didn't build my own power.

I know decent players will probably be aware of this, and it shows I'm not good etc etc, but i wanted to know if there is somewhere i can see that the power I have is not my own? So that I can build an extra power plant already?

Thanks for any tips.

Try to remember how much energy a t2 and a t3 power plant produce; this can help with a rough guesstimate of how much you produce yourself.

Yea. I know i should be doing that better really. But fact is that i lose track with 100 engis randomly reclaiming everywhere and equal numbers assisting factories. Hence the question :)

If you have full power storage and you are leaching power from team mates it shows +0 or +1 next to power storage bar. When you are overflowing power it shows for example +1000

Also, you can look at how the power production number fluctuates. If you have a steady number in your production bar you are making your own power. If it constantly shifts from zero or a negative to a positive number but you aren't power stalling, then you're leeching power from one of your allies.

I'd like a UI mod that shows the economies of all your allies.

^Mini workaround for the time being:

Build a e-store and a m-store for each ally and donate them.
Anytime you need to approx. their energy/mass you can look at the donated building (they change based of % of engery/mass).

Not the most useful, and it takes a lot of time... but it's the best option.

I really wish it was common to say how your eco is going or what would help. All to often I'll energy/mass stall and not say anything cause I don't wanna feel like a nub for desperately needing a mass boost. Instead I'll just ride out for like, 20 mins where I can't do anything as I'm SOL with mass. XD
(I now have an eco mod that prevents such prolonged stallage by showing you what is using your resources. So this doesn't happen now, but still.)

And I know I'm not the only person that does this stupid thing. Just ask for some help! Allies help! (They will always prefer a better shot at winning to you just twiddling your thumbs.)

Usually everyone needs mass...

If you need energy however... that's a lot worse. With empty E storage and more spending than income, your mexes will bring in less mass.
