Antinuke fixes

Postby Tokyto » 24 Feb 2014, 00:52

Hi,
i recently discovered some bugs with antinukes,
shortly, when you want to build Cybran/Seraphym/Aeon antinuke, the range indicator isnt correct (only UEF works normally), but when the antinuke is already built the range is displayed correctly,
also, speeding up the antinuke missile might be reasonable, since when you launch a nuke right in antinuke range border, antinuke launch a missile but the nuke still manages to explode,

Thx for your time reading ;)

P.S.: Hope i posted it in the right forum :?

Even nastier is that sometimes multiple SMD's shoot a missile at an incoming nuke.

With the range you still need to keep in mind that a nuke slightly outside the SMD range will still inflict damage within it's range.

When a missile launches and it doesn't have the time to reach the missile that is not a bug. As far as I know the range is spherical and when it lands on the edge it just doesn't have time to reach the missile and I think that is intended.

I'd even vote to change SMD to some kind of anti-ballistic railgun (could also be super-fast missile but that would just look stupid) so you still have to spend time and resources building the bullet (unlike laser defences) but it will insta-hit and shoot down incomming missiles so there would be no overkill from 2 or more SMDs shooting at the same missile.

OR we could adjust the range so that SMD will not fire the missile if there is no way it will reach nuke in time, the range ring would also reflect this effective range instead of trigger range.
Plus some extra coding to counter anti-nuke overkill.
