is this a bug? exploit? or good micro?

Postby Nossa » 20 Feb 2014, 03:46

Happens to me(light blue) in the first 3 or so minutes in the game with a seraphim bomber hovering in place dropping more than 2 bombs. It just doesn't seem like this is supposed to be in the game. I could be wrong.

It's 'good mirco'.

There is debate on if it's okay or not, but it's in the game for now and seems like that's the way it will remain until bombers suck less without this ability.

There are tutorials on how to do it and counter it. You would have had to immediately start an AA turret when you saw it to stand a chance.

Before FAF you could drop one bomb every 2 seconds, so it was not ok at all, but now bomber can drop like one bomb every 4-5 seconds and if people will debate about bomber being too good again, we can just increase reload time, or make other kind of nerf

well that just sucks. almost goes back to the bomber first debate before that got squashed. if everyone started doing it i wonder if it would change. It can seriously make or break a game so easy. especially if all the engies get wiped out from repeated "hover bombs" and just camps the thing on top of a factory. By the time you get a static AA up your WAY behind.

There is no serious debate, just some ranting about personal countering inability.

Yeah. I really think that's a big problem, i mean if a LAB kills your engys, by the time you get a PD up you have already lost the game. Incredible i think we should remove all T1 units they just can give you too much of an advantage on maps like Roanoke Abyss or Seraphim Glaciers....

Failing to understand the problem again Shepp. Its not an inability to counter (which he doesnt seem to know yet) but rather just not a good mechanic to make first bomber worth.

Its not intuitive to hover a bomer like this, as you can see by this inexperienced players concern "bug, exploit".

I'll state again, Sheppard, I'm one player who disproves your theory. It's not for a lack of ability that I dislike this, I can hover-bomb perfectly well, and I can counter it too. It just looks, feels, plays... Wrong. It's so wrong, it sets off all my "Wrong" alarm bells.

I say just increase Reload time to 8 seconds. If you can hover the Bomber that long, you deserve the kills. If you can't, it has no effect on normal behaviour.
