Training for a new player

Postby RoLa » 07 Feb 2014, 02:57

How do you train a new player? Is there any mod which gives an observer trainer mode or something. I did a game together with a newby against 2 player 400-600. I tried to make it almost even and didnt do too much just enough. I think it would be really great mod to be in an observer mode like in a replay session but to be able to set the screen to the viewport the trainee is seeing. Would it be possible?

You can do this by turning cheats on. Then you can switch sides, so to speak, so you can see the game from his viewpoint and you can even give orders to his units. You do this by pressing Alt+F2 and then double clicking on his army in the menu.

There are many ways:

I. Play vs him 1vs1 and watch the replay after it and talk about the game with him.

II. Play a 2vs2 and give him some tips in this time.

III. (2 trainers needed) The new player is playing vs an other trainer and you are also in the game like a referee.
You are doing nothing and you only see what he sees. So you can tell him directly what he is doing wrong.

So normaly i will train a new player with Koecher. We are in skype. So he plays vs him e.g. and i can tell both what to do.
The good point is that you can influence the game as you want to show him what can happen.
