Hello there (hopefully)

So I used to play this game religiously in the old gpg days (sadly only offline so I don't really know anyone and highly doubt anyone knows me) but had to quit as I moved off to college since my dad wouldn't let me take his PC with me. I had for the most part switched to console gaming at college (and even tried the xbox version of SC and SC2 *shudders*) and only recently have I started getting back into PC gaming. I had mostly forgotten about this game until a couple months ago when I stumbled across a certain youtube channel run by a certain Mr. Gyle which inspired me to reacquire my old SC disk from my parents. But that wasn't enough I needed to join the FAF community and so I decided to purchase FA on steam when this happened... -_-



about 30 mins into the download my internet decided it wanted to be slower than a fatboy with a GC and Chicken dancing on top of it. That screen shot was taken at 2 AM today, about 8 hours after I started the download -_- The download is still chugging along (after 26 hours at the time of this post !!!!) and if the Time remaining indicator is accurate I should be done downloading by Friday........... Then I get to start downloading all of the FAF stuff!!!YAY!!!


That's about it, just wanted to say hi and spam the forums with my problems like any good interwebz user. I am actively reading this forum (mostly for strategies and unit updates and whatnot) and will hopefully become more proactive when my internet stops being so god awfully slow.

FAF supports 3596, 3599, 3603, and steam versions of game.
When FAF patches it does not affect your installation folder.
so if you have trouble with steam version, you can download/install any other version.
So there are multiple ways to get into FAF

you can also login into FAF chat with any ICR client (that mean even from your mobile smartphone)

Are you using some sort of shared internet connection in an apartment or something? I was in a place last year that gave you a 250mb allowance a day and then slowed to a crawl after that.

no, it's just the cable company was digging up a bunch of stuff to replace some faulty wires all around my neighborhood. They finished up today while I was at work so everything should be fine by now (hopefully)
