Im considering buying a new laptop that has windows 8.1, but Id like to know if the game and FAF (All on Steam) is compatible with the new OS?

Works, no problems encountered yet.

Buy the laptop, format it and install Windows 7; all problems solved.

HA, I totally wish I could. But Im having trouble finding the best deal for a windows 7 OS on Amazon.ca

Run FA and FAF as admin and all your problems disappear. I have had zero problems once I did that.

I dont think there are any options to run as Admin in steam.

Rightclick the application launch in the FAF folder and set it to run as admin permanently.

But what if I wanted to Run FA and/or Vanilla on their own without FAF?

Like I said, no problems at all.
Downloaded my free upgrade, and I just clicked a few buttons, everything worked instantly no problems, no reinstalls required.
I haven't seen any mouse problems people are supposed to be having. And definitely not in FA.
