UEF Shoulder Drone Exploit on Setons Clutch.

I was just playing Mid on Setons Clutch, standard fast-mid play: Threw down a factory, and beelined straight for middle mass.

The UEF shoulder drone cleaned out the place well before I got there. No destroyers left.

Other factions cannot reach middle mass before the UEF player can harvest most of it. Play UEF? Have fun with this while it lasts.

That is not an exploit.... that is what is known as using your tools well. Also, you were ridiculously slow getting to mid if ALL the mass was gone from a single drone. Additionally, first drone causes a major power crash and late expansion, so it has it's tradeoffs.

Remember that the drone is FAST. All of the destroyers can be reclaimed before any other faction can reach them, if a factory is put down.

The drone is 120/2400, which is instantly paid off by the guaranteed destroyer reclaim.

Not the power deficit though.... if you go first drone, then you MUST build 2-3 pgens before your first factory or else you power stall so hard you can't do anything. If you do a couple pgen and then drone, your acu does not get to front fast enough. No matter which route you take, your hydro is put off till later and your expansion is slow. Point is, if you lose hands down to someone using this build, you need to find another build to counter it. Additionally, if you go first drone your score is VERY VERY low. If you see that happen vs a UEF front player, simply build an AA unit first from fac and you can shoot it down before it gets done reclaiming the second destroyer. That is pretty easy to do

Point is, this is not an exploit. This is an oddball unit used effectively, and it can easily be countered. Don't make yelling "exploit!" on the forum your default reaction to meeting a new strategy.

I'm sure that one of the 4 players on your team can make a scout, a plane, and defeat that exploit.
