FAF Logo

Hi guys,

as you probably have noticed, a new FAF logo has been implemented. The logo was created by me (assisted by Shai-Hulud). I sent it in and thought it could be placed under the “FORGED ALLICANCE FOREVER” slogan since there was no real FAF logo. However, next think I noticed was that the logo was all over the place I did not expect this and I did not mean to push the community. Initially I thought that there could be a FAF logo contest where the entire community can participate – the idea with the most votes would be chosen in the end (could be the old “logo” too, of course).
I do not know how much work it is to implement the logo into the program, but if it is easy to do we still could have this contest. Maybe there would be some nice ideas. At least it certainly would be a way of bringing the community together even closer. What do you guys think?
Attached you will find my idea (different variations). Tell me what you think. I probably would narrow the A down a bit – looks a bit too dominant in the tiny taskbar-logo (did not know it would be used for that).

New FAF logo rocks. I like the concept behind it.

I know commercial companies pay a lot for something like this - and often end up with something that looks worse.

While not exactly the same, your logo looks a lot like this symbol for a picnic table.

Initially, I actually thought that was the intent. It wasn't till I saw a bigger version of the logo that I realized what you were going for. I'd recommend tweaking it some so that it won't be confused with the attached symbol.

Other than that, all three look pretty good.

Thanks for the feedback and LOL (!) it does look like the picnic table sign! I didn't know such a sign existed. When I have some time at my hands, I'll try to alter it a bit to make it look less similar.

I really like this idea. One thing is that I didn't understand that it was supposed to spell FAF until I read this explanation. Perhaps introducing a little space between the A and the F's like this? http://i.imgur.com/kg20icT.png (pardon my noob paint skills)

Reminds me of Fortress Forever (a far superior sequel to Team Fortress than the abomination that is Team Fortress 2).

I like the first one a lot, but it reminds me of the EA logo. Other than that, the white on black looks excellent.
