Got a hankering to play the best RTS ever: Total Annihilation? But don't want to got back to a 1997 interface? Then SCTA is for you!

The trouble with supcom these days is they don't teach the kiddies to play rts properly anymore. Its all mass this and engies that. The kiddies don't know anything about metal and con units. Result is they hide behind their shields and have no need to fear the bb. But its not the kiddies fault, they just need someone to show them.

But don't worry, SCTA to the rescue! With this mod the kiddies can come out from behind their shields, learn the value of dgunning 100 flashies on comet, learn to hoard their bombers to throw at a bb, learn to play rts properly!

SCTA is a mod for supcom that adds Arm and Core factions from Total Annihilation. In the past you would have been able to download it from gaspowered.com. But since gaspowered.com is dead, it would be sad if this awesome mod just disappeared into the ether. So here's a torrent:

when it is a simple mod, which only contains a folder you need to copy into the Mod folder, you can upload it in the mod vault.
this way everybody can download the mod easily and you can host a game with SCTA. all the people joining your server will download SCTA from the mod vault automatically.

Yeah I don't think its that kind of mod. I'm happy to be corrected though ...

So glad someone else posted this. A few days ago I was looking into making this known to the FAF public but my monitor failed and now am forced to use my phone for everything. The mod is amazing (i used it back in GPG days) but I only was able to use it for vanilla supcom back in the olden days.

I should mention that Raeven (the mod's author) got it all working happily with forged alliance. And infact if you use the attached init_scta.lua it will even work with latest forged alliance forever patch (located in c:/ProgramData/FAForever on my machine)

Also I should mention that if anyone has the original release as packaged by Raeven, that would probably make a better torrent than the above one - I just grabbed the necessary files from my fa installation, which is missing Raeven's release notes etc :(

ah good news, as pointed out in another thread, we can access many of gpg's forum posts from web archive. Heres a link to web archive's copy of Raevn's thread, where you can download his original SCTA release (but no loader init_scta.lua script):

The main problem of this mod is that it's not finished :bots have no walking animations, and units are missing or unfinished. Other than that, it's a very good work.
