current building explosions

i dont know when excactly the new building destrucion animations were implemented but i want to ask what others think of them.
i dont really like them. in my opinion there are several fiery explosions on the building that look very 2D and dont fit to the graphic standard of the rest of supcom.
what do you think?

It's the graphic enhancement pack that some people point me last patch.

It will be there at least until next patch. If you don't like it, you can always try to make it better until then.

I don't like it either. Also especially not the fire textures.

Zep, as you answered my question in the other thread about the particle effects, you said the effects were sim side and therefore there could not be an option to not render them client side. Did that include the textures or only the particles?

i think zeps particles are something completly different from the new explosions.
zeps particles were always there and he scaled them up.
the explosions are some kind of mod that was implemented.
I think for this stuff there should simply be a vote in the client
maybe even a vote page should be added to the client.
that way i think a survey would reach a SIGNIFICANTLY higher amount of votes because its not just a new article.
and if there are often several votes at the same time faf can be improved a lot...

Or I can save me the hassle and keep them as it is, because, well, I don't want extra work?

(hint : if you want something, do it, don't ask).

And yes, the textures are UI-side.

Also, were in test for like 5 months in the beta 3626 forum. It's too late to whine now.

But you can work on it and propose it for the next patch in some months.

I love the new explosions and graphic effects I think they are a great addition to the game. Bravo !

The only problem is that the fire particle turns into... green color after a while, looks really crappy. Other than that, the explosions themselves are a nice improvement, and for example the ahwassa crash explosion now looks awesome. I'll look into wether i can fix the texture turning into that stupid green color before it fades away, then they'll be perfect.

unit explosions look awesome.
but do you really like the ones on buildings?
i feel like they look 2005
and the rest of supcom looks 2010
