Still a few rough edges, but Forged Alliance Forever now has a form of Linux support thanks to the efforts of the Wine team. Tested on a fairly vanilla Ubuntu install as above.
Grab the latest Wine 1.7 and enjoy.[Edit]
Basic setup help as of mid 2014:
1. Mount FA ISO. Install.
2. Install FAF lobby.
3. Run
winetricks vcrun2010.. Needed because of the way the uid.dll is compiled.
4. Enjoy the game.

Just to be clear : Linux is still not officially supported, so don't bother posting any bug if you are using the linux version.

RMS wouldn't approve, Supcom is too proprietary.
But awesome, soon switching to linux then!

can someone give a how-to for total linux noobs of the installation of wine + installation of winetricks/playonlinux/vineyard (?) + installation of supcom:FA + installation of FAF ?
i tried it, but i am not experienced in the usage of wine at all. i did not even manage to install supcom:fa.

i would like to bump my question again:
how do you install supcom:FA in linux?
how do you install FAF in linux?
a short answer is all right, when it is still beginner-friendly.
