In case anybody's interested, I've ditched Wayland and gone back to X11, and using the latest proprietary v440 NV drivers I've had no crashes so far even with games over 1hr (knock on wood)

I needed a solution for the crashing and I hadn't tried that yet.

No game crashes so far but replays still crash. Time will tell.

Has anyone managed to get either of the map editors to work? The GPG editor's main window does not update (there's some DX surfacing issue), and Ozonex's "works" but does not want to load maps properly nor do the Unity widgets and menus display properly. I've tried all manner of winetricks and protontricks hacks and custom prefixes to no avail.

I think best bet is for ozone's editor to be ported to linux straight up. these sorts of things shouldn't be run in wine. you should hit him up.

just go and tell their developers to develop software for an actual, proper operating system instead of a third world solution like Windos.
they won't like it but that doesn't make you wrong. :'D

Some more feedback regarding the crashing.

In-game crashes are rare, but replays still crash. On a hunch, I set my in-game quality preset to Low, and no replay crashing. Now for the interminable process of finding the right balance of candy and stability.
