I'm using the standard renderer and it desyncs for me anyway.

As a stopgap, I'm trying to run the python client using wine but alas, this happens immediately on launch: :'(

Any ideas? This is using my default wineprefix (64bit). Should I use a 32-bit wineprefix?

Code: Select all
Unhandled exception: unimplemented function api-ms-win-core-path-l1-1-0.dll.PathCchCombineEx called in 64-bit code (0x000000007b44c1e7).

@Tastu
Go back to normal wine/proton/whatever without gallium nine.
it can be your Ubuntu/kernel version too. this guy has desync problems with kernel 5.x.x.x without gallium nine too.
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=17390&p=173614#p173246

i use gallium nine now but i haven't experienced desyncs in normal games. maybe i didn't play long enough games.
can we test this with an 1 hour+ long game today? i'm on discord.
ASF party only, we don't kill each other, don't have to play seriously, just build ASFs and patrol them from the air factory and they kill each other. it can go in the background.

when i watch replays i experience desyncs but i don't care about that. i rather watch Jagged Appliance on youtube anyways.
without gallium nine i didn't experience desyncs either btw. but my game crashed at min 45~ (game time)

when do you experience the desyncs? at what time?
do you use opensource AMD / Nvidia proprietary / or opensource Nvidia nouveau drivers?

don't bother with the Phyton client.
even if you can make it run, it won't work. there is no Python client that is compatible with the ICE adapter and the FAF server.

I'm on Arch, not Ubuntu, but I don't have any desyncs even in 1+ hour games using kernel 5.0.7, Proton 3.16 Beta, and the binary Nvidia driver 418.56.

Which is quite funny because that's what I was originally using and getting desyncs with, and I was told, on this very thread, to use 3.16 instead :)

do you use opensource AMD / Nvidia proprietary / or opensource Nvidia nouveau drivers?

don't bother with the Phyton client.
even if you can make it run, it won't work. there is no Python client that is compatible with the ICE adapter and the FAF server.

Immediately once the game launches. Each and every time. I'm about to try my first game of the day. Here's to no desync!

I am using the proprietary Nvidia drivers, but I have not had any issues with them in the past.

I've been using proton 3.16-9; I'll experiment with other versions.
