Setons Clan Matches - Just for fun!

Hi Guys,

You know how it is on Seton s, endless discussions about balance, stacked games etc.... well to counter that myself and Pascal are setting up a small clan with some friends I met on Steam called SN (Steam Noobs)

We would be interested in playing some other clans once things are sorted, doesn't matter if good or bad I know the guys from Steam are keen to learn.

This really is just for fun, the idea being people can play with their friends without being accused of stacking. I would kindly ask that there is no trash talking, if we are to get this off the ground and make it a regular thing I don't want the new guys getting upset by superior players talking down to them (not a rule just a kind request)

I propose the following format.

Games are unranked
any player quitting from either team results in a forfeit (this part will be particularly difficult for me haha)
normal rules no restrictions or mods

I would also ask at some stage once we have a couple of clan matches under our belt if any of the casters would be interested in covering one of our games, I really think this would help attract further interest from Steam.

If anyone is interested in playing us for a scrim, please message me on FAF or post here and we will try to arrange something.

i think it is not easy to organize "setons clan" games coz someone is always missing. so i would suggest u host a setons and write ur intention in the title something like: "unrated fungame bring ur mates"
tiger is doing this too and i think he would let u play together as mates and noone would call u stacker.

After there have been many tries and fails to make a setons tourney ppl gave up on that.

But maybe it would be possible to make a kind of "setons league" that could work like that:
Form big team of maybe 8 ppl. And whenever it happens by chance that 2 teams play against each other
The outcome of the game gets scored in that league. Or even in the case that 3 of the 4 players from each team belong to a league team it could get scored. With this mechanic there would be no pressure to find a date to play but ppl who play regularly would be rewarded with the chance to score more than lazy teams with a better win ratio.
After one year or so the team with the best score gets an setons champion avatar for one year.

Do you guys think that could work?

I'm not much of a setons player but that sounds like a great idea for you guys.

i think noone will implement the "league".

and 8 ppl for a team - well how many players are really playing setons regularly? 20? 25?
and how many of those would play in a weaker team? if you make a league where u get a avatar if u win, noone will be in a "loser team".
and it would not be a "just for fun" game.

but as i mentioned in the first sentence, i think noone will do the work to implement that "league" into faf.

I think you did not get the idea bat.

There is no need to implement something into faf. It would just be a thread in the tourney forum.
The first post has a table in it that gets edited and updated once a while. People have to post the replays and the outcome of the games they want to get scored.
You dont have to play regularly and i think its more than 25 ppl. playing setons.
Teamsize are arguable.

Scoring could work like in a soccer league 3 points for a win and 0 for a loss. You dont get punished for a loss and get rewarded if you play often. There is no need that all teams have the same amount of games in the end.

I would even offer to host that league , make the thread and update the table once a weak or month whatever fits to the amounts of games played

and who is implementing the avatar for the winner? i really was thinking of an "official" league..

with the right advertisement it could work, but in the last tries it was even hard to get 2 teams going.

We would need some advertisement thats right, maybe one of the casters could help out with that.
For the avatar: no idea how it works but for other tourneys it does. And we would have one year to solve that issue.
I think that appears very doable.
Maybe i ll set up a post in the tourney forum about the major concept today in the evening when i dont have to type with my smartfone.

I think we shouldn't get carried away, as a starting point if you have some guys on and we do we get a game on. Moving forward if more people are interested then I don't see any reason why an informal league of some kind won't work.

The key to this will be getting groups of players with lower ability (such as SN) willing to play better teams as we are. The more the merrier as far as im concerned.

Hehe that makes me think of a rollback in time, where setons was "crew wars", no matter what the skills were,time where people didn't even use the word "Stack" . Good old days.

I remember a few crews :
Lappen crew : lappen, bull way, sun_tsu, email
Burgh cew : burgh, me, char, master pain
Mize's crew : mize, mechfly, attercob

That time, the lappen crew was probably the best one. Got bashed many many times lol.

BTW, just curious, what does SN stand for ?
