rating inaccuracies

to some it may seem like a tautology: if you quit ladder games which you would probably win, your rating becomes inaccurate. i play maybe 50% of all the ladder offers me, because that is about the fraction of maps i find worthwhile.
i find playing against 1v1 rating of 1400 to be suited to my skilllevel, still i get a lot of opponents below 1000, because my rating is in fact 1150. so how about not counting games that were not actually played. like game time < 10s.

You know where this will end? Right, in a rediculus high quit-rate on rankeds as many players will instant quit if they dont se a high chance of winning.

Why not win vs the 1000 rated and get your rating up. It wil save you more time in the end

If i got that right he's playing the 1000ish players but quits the maps he doesn't like....or did you mean "you quit the maps" AND "the 1000ish-Player games"?

In that case I agree with zep, a case of abuse rather than misplaced priorites. IMO

well i dont want to step on anybodies toes, but i'd rather cut myself than having to play maps like emerald crater.
i dont want to cheat anybody i just would prefer if i can play the games i like against the opponents that fit my skilllevel.
is that not doable?

If your really that desperate why bother searching ranked anyways? You will have to quit more than you play.... Just host a custom.

To be honest! Are you kidding me root ? every player must deal with the same maps for the whole season - trying every map, trying to be better on a crazy map as your opponent is what drives me to play 1v1. Your skill cant improve if you only play the same maps you already can win - try it! play the other maps too... People who quit more than 3 games in a row a specific map type or opponent skill rating should be BANNED from 1v1. This is my opinion.
You can see it from the other side, I hate it to be overrated if a higher skilled player don't want to play with me a specific map. Its annoying and time wasting... and I want at least a fair maybe-I-can-win-chance against a higher rating player. How would you feel if you win against voodoo for example? Glad, right? Isn't it fair to give 1000ish people a fair chance to beat you? ...
come on... play not just 50%, play 100%
