Exploiting T3 Transports

I believe this is unfair play. The replay uid is 882269 2013-05-03. I think exploiting is a problem, specially with GW coming on. This is not any better than instacapture or exploiting resource or upgrade bugs. Indicating that I should counter them with exploiting - floating flak - only shows the nature of that replay.

Can you be more precise about what is "exploited" ?

If you are referring to loading 20+ mech marines into the t3 transport so you get a huge amount of combined ground DPS, that is not an exploit. It costs more than a restorer, takes a ton of micro and time invested to get one up in the air compared to a gunship, and is easily defeated by flak. This is simply one of those cool weapons that only one faction has, and it is countered without too much trouble. Also, flak on water is not an exploit.

He means that using 40 UEF Continentals is unstoppable, and he is right, because the models overlap and the shields protect each other (and I believe that the mobile shield nerf doesn't count because it's a personal shield).

And since Continentals have decent anti ground DPS (60) and very good AA DPS (266 DPS homing SAM missiles), they work even better than Restorers when their number grow and that they can protect each other when overlapping. In that game, the guy didn't use Continentals for transport, but as killing machines. 40 Continentals = 10640 AA DPS, 2400 ground DPS, 180000 raw HP + 120000 shield HP that recharge. But 10 continentals will be already super hard to counter and very efficient at everything.

I believe their attacking stats can be reduced a lot, considering their role is to transport, not to eradicate, but above all, that their shield should be affected like mobile shields, so that the overlapping abuse is limited.

PS: they also fly as fast as interceptors = twice the speed of a restorers, so it's very hard to counter them with flaks : they can fly away much more easily.

I agree with PIP. Stacking t3 transports so their shields would overlap and make them all indistructible. Flak wouldn't even touch a T3 transport if it is kited/exploited. I heard all this about the restorer because UEF wanted to rush t1 tanks only and lost air all the times back on gpgnet. I mentioned restorer, but even on 3599 restorer groups could and would be killed by asf 1-by-1 on bigger numbers, say 40 restorers vs 40 asf, asf wins. With FAF t3 transports its the opposite because of unusual high turn rate/speed/acceleration/range of aa/overlapping shields.

For the lazy, here is the replay. Better use +10 speed, it's a long replay and massive use of continentals come into play after 30 minutes.

Mass ANYTHING is "op", especially if you cluster all the mass spent in one place. Just saying.
